So this weekend I hope to roll out the new cages. I'm quite excited hehe.

They will be 4x4 and I thought I would have 1x4 of that as a kitchen area and the rest fleece (because the fleece that I have just fits a 3x4 area and it means I can just use 1 throw at a time).

The mattress pads I brought are large and fit this 3x4 area when folded in half, so should I cut them in half and use half at a time or leave them doubled over?
They are on special at the moment so I could get another two for cage changes.

Thanks in advance.

I'd cut 'em. You don't really need two thicknesses of mattress pad, and that way, you'll have one in reserve for the next cage cleaning.
