How can I get rid of the guinea pig hair before I put it in the washing machine / drying machine? I tried shaking it but not all the hair comes off.

I got a pet hair brush from a dollar store, (and I know this may seem odd) and I stick the the fleece to the bricks on my house and brush! (My neighbours probably think I'm crazy!) It really works!

I shake mine till I break a sweat then I wash it in an old pillow case. One that is pretty worn and thin.
Then when I dry it I take it out of the case.
The dryer filter catches all the hair.

When I used fleece, I put mine down on the patio and swept it, then washed it in fine-mesh laundry bags.

I don't really think you can get all the hair off it, but to help I use my vaccume hose with an end on it that has a brissle brish they helps a lot. I also use a pet roller that works well, but gets full fast.
