Hello~
Some of you know that my guinea pig of almost 8 years has passed. It's been very sad not having her around. It's even worse now that my bedroom is so quite and feels so empty and lifeless. I don't want it to seem like I'm replacing her, or anything, because I miss her so much. But I am considering getting a new Piggy.

So, I was wondering if anyone knows of any rescue centers or animal shelters that have Guinea Pigs for adoption in NEW YORK, specifically in the long island area? I've been looking and the only one i've found is very far upstate, I can't reach it at the moment...plus they don't have much of a selection at this time.

As far as I've read, my local shelters only have dogs and cats...maybe I should call them individually to find out?

Anyone have any suggestions? It would be so easy to just go into a pet store, but I'd rather not after reading up about why adoption is recommended.

Thank you!
