My guinea pig too fat?

Hey! I was wondering...my guinea pig eats lettuce like there is no tommorow and she gets a lot of hay. Grass is also a favorite to. I just weighed her and she id 2.5 pounds. Is that too heavy?

I don't know for sure but I have heard of piggies being 3 plus pounds when they are full grown!

That is an ok weight for your guinea pig to be. I have heard of 3.5 pound guinea pigs at that age!

That's a good weight, I have 3 that are around 2.9 pounds and one that weighs in at 3.3 pounds.

I'm not sure about pounds but my largest boy is 1.22kg (1220grams), and I thought he was overweight but turns out he is nice and adverage too. He is six aswell, its always good to keep a check on weight when they get over 3/4 I think (you should anyway but I think it's vital when they are growing and when they are elderly)

454g = 1 pound

My piggie (1.5 years) is 830g or not quite 2 pounds and the vet said he needed to gain weight. He probably has since we've been feeding him lots of veggies since we got him. I don't think he ever had them before.

LOL! yup BFF. at least i know im not feeding her too much. i think its just her fur. remember when we bathed her and she was super skinny...(sorry to anyone who is reading this and has no idea what we are talking about but Pumpkin_RIP is my best friend in real life)
