Is it okay to freeze the green peppers that I want to feed my girls for a later time? I plan to cut them up first. They seem to get rotten so quick and they tend to be expensive because I end up throwing them away before I can feed them to the girls.

I really wouldn't recommend it. I asked the same question ages ago after I had already frozen some and wanted to know how badly I had messed up. They thaw out all mushy and watery, and some of the vitamins break down.

I dont want to sound dumb, but we have a Farmers Market that sells green peppers for .48 a LBS. Sometimes, you can get good deals at Farmer's Markets do you have any close by?

I love green peppers, why don't you eat your pigs leftovers like I do.

If you have a Save-a-lot store near you that's where I buy my green peppers. They're very cheap there. But you have to check for quality. I go to the grocery store several times a week to make sure everyone (including me) gets fresh veggies.

We have an awesome store here that sells the best produce. I go several times a week on my way home from work. Cilantro 3-4 big bunches for 1.00. Peppers any color 2 for 1.00. Huge bunches of kale, collard greens, other types of greens .88 cents. Lately the letteces have been .69 cents. All of my GP's, rats and rabbits love it all. I get me some too. When I go to the register the clerks now know most of it is for my critters. They don't laugh at me anymore.
