Does anyone know a good vet in melbourne?

I seem to know more about guinea pigs than most vets do. I wont go into details but its annoying, even the specialized clinic did nothing.

Ive only found 2 contacts who are good but far away

Sorry I don't live in Melbourne so I don't have a personal recommendation. The Australian Cavy Sanctuary has a list of recommended vets and they have two listed for Victoria that both appear to be located in Melbourne, (broken link removed)

Try the Melbourne Rabbit Clinic - (broken link removed) . They only treat rabbits and guinea pigs.

Or is that the specialised clinic you're referring to.

I recommend Brisbane Bird and Exotics. Which doesn't really help you in Melbourne I realise (sadly: they are awesome vets) but just in case anyone is after a recommendation in other parts of Australia.

Where in Melbourne are you located? I use Lort Smith at Plenty Valley OR Lort Smith North Melbourne (though the Exotic Specialist is on holidays atm). Melbourne Rabbit Clinic are good, as are Warranwood.

I've been going to Warranwood vet clinic: https://www.warranwoodvet.com.au/
Their head vet specializes in exotic pets (rabbit, GPs, reptiles, etc) and from my experience they know what happens on my piggie.
Treated with them for mites, URI, not eating and worked out fine.

It is really difficult in Melbourne to find a vet that knows more about Guinea pigs than you can google on the internet or come to this site for info. Personally I had a bad experience at the Melbourne Rabbit Clinic so I wouldn't recommend them. I currently go to the Warranwood vet and they are awesome and very knowledgeable about Guinea pigs like @p_wizard said he is an exotic vet specialist. It can be a bit of a trip for us as well but knowing they are well looked after is worth the trip and the price is comparable with other vets I have previously seen. I hope this helps @craze.

Agree, it's 20 mins from my place, half an hour from city and worse for western suburbs.
It is worth the trip though, considering the fact that most of the local vets deal with dogs and cats only and they have been always offering good advice.

Also went to melbourne rabbit clinic, aside from the name and the stigma about it i actually found there service basic and the receptionist rude and they didnt carry out what they charged us for
