    litter training

    So Gir has automatically found a little spot in the cage that he always goes to poop and pee, Is there anything else that I can do to continue to encourage it, I use the carefresh Natural bedding

    If you decide to change your bedding to all fleece you can then make a fleece forest and put a mini cat litter pan underneath in the area where he normally goes and just have carefresh in there even put a few of his poops in there to start and you'll notice him use it more and more. I have had great success with this method they will still drop a few else where but way less. You will find your spending way less on bedding as well which will save you a bundle. good luck

    I have one cavy, Chester, who is fully litter trained, and he has done a pretty good job of training the young one by example. We were fervently hoping for this when we brought her home.

    Of course, there are some stray poops around the cage on the main level, but for the most part the litter box is well-used. I use Planet Petco Crumpled Paper Bedding in the litter box, fleece in the rest of my cage. Here are some pics of my setup:

    that is cool.. when I build my C&C cage I might do that..
