    Talking Building a c&c cage

So I am building a c&c cage. It's a 2x3 but it is 30x44 inches big. Would that still be too small for two guinea pigs. I just don't have room for 2x4 cage. Do any of you guys have any tips, advice or really anything that will help me mak my cage the best possible
    Thanks!

yes a 2x3 is way to small. A 2x4 would be better. If you dont have room can u make a loft??

If you can't got wider or longer then go higher. Add another level or 2

A 2x3 isn't too small! It's the minimum for two pigs. If you have boars though, bigger is better, as they get territorial. If you're still concerned about the room, try fitting in a 2x3.5 grid cage!

A 2x3 cage is the minimum for 2 pigs, but many pigs will bicker with their cage mates with a cage that size. It depends on personalities and whether your pigs are OK with being in a closer proximity together.

It would be best to build the absolute biggest cage possible, have you tried rearranging your area to get more space? I rearranged my room 3 or 4 times before fitting in a 2x7 with overhanging 2x3 loft !

I think I know what you are talking about. I got a small playpen that is all different colors. But don't remember where I got it. I got it for turtles a while back but have since then turned it into a cage for when I am cleaning Lady G. cage.

Here are a few I found close to what I think you are looking for:

that's like what I'm looking for but they are like the ones you would use to make a cage but they are smaller. I thought I saw them in some pictures but me and mom have looked all over for them! I also think I am going to get one of those playpens too though.

I am actually thinking of switching around my bed and my cabinet thingy so I could fit a 2x4 or bigger.

No. It is not way too small. Guinea Pig Cages, Your Cavy At Home says min square footage for 2 guinea pigs is 7.5 square ft. A 2X3 C&C is 7.5 square ft.

OP, are your guinea pigs males or females? Males tend to do better and have less issues in a larger than than the recommended size. Example. 2 boars do better in a 3 boar cage.

If you can fit in a 2X4. That is great!
Also, I want to be sure we are on the same page, when you say 2X4 you are saying 2 grids by 4 grids correct?

My two boars are in a 2x3.5 with a 1x3.5 loft. And it seems to be plenty of room. They rarely have spats.

    How old are your boars?
When they haven't hit puberty their generally docile. But as soon as puberty hits "stuff" hits the fan. Several users who have experience with boars will tell you theirs started off great in the smaller C&C. But when puberty hit they had to expand. A boar's territory expands as they mature.

for 1 boar it would be plenty enough
but for 2 the 2X4 would be fine. the 2x5 would be best. but the 2x5 is always bigger than it appears.
