    Correct me if I'm wrong...

I am bringing home three young bores in a few weeks. I want to make them a great cage. So, I have done lots of research, and this is what I have learned about stting up my cage. Please let me know if I misunderstood anything.

I need a cage at least 2 x 5 grids. Ramps take up floor space, so if I use a second floor, I need a bigger cage. I will need to make a kitchen area that has at least two hay racks with litter pans underneath. I need two water botles. I need four hidies/cozies. A fleece forest counts as a hidey.

For a fleece lined cage, I will need at least two layers of towels or uhaul padding under the fleece. Clean the cage with a 50/50 soluton of vinegar and water.

Please let me know if I missed anything! Thanks for your help

Hi, litter pans are optional. Two or more of water bottles/hay/ food dishes is recommended especially with 3. Every thing else looks good to me.

Seems like you have done your research good job. You're going to have a very happy set of piggies when you bring them home.

For boars bigger is always better, I would give them a 2x6 at the least so they can get away from each other, or when they hit purberty it really helps to have the space.

I thought that too, but I'm not sure I have room for a 2x6.

You can also try expanding to the side, such as having a 3x5 instead of a 2x5.

You may not need two absorbant layers under your fleece. Your set up will be perfected through trial and error once you get your piggies and learn their individual behaviors.

I have 3 pigs in a 3x5 cage and only need to change the fleece liner once a week with only one layer.

Just keep in mind pig care isn't an exact science. As long as their basic needs are met you can play around with everything else. And have LOTS of fun in the process.

Thank you for the reminder. I tend to overly stress about things
