Question New Piggy - Not Eating Well

We adopted a new baby piggy on Saturday and she (Emily) is not eating well or drinking well on her own. She will eat a little on her own but not much. For the most part I am hand feeding her and I am holding the water bottle up for her as I cradle her in my arm to get her to drink and eat. Even with hand feeding her she is not eating a lot in my opinion but she is eating some.

She was in a cage with her other littermates and her mom so I am not sure if she is lonely/if this is normal/or what to do?? Her behaviour seems normal other than the eating...

She is eating the pellets - will not eat the hay or lettuce - likes apple and orange... She is using the bathroom so I know she is having some intake.

Re: New Piggy - Not Eating Well

She's still adjusting to a new cage and no littermates. She'll probably eat on her own -- just make sure you've got a hidey in the cage so she feels secure, and put the food right at the entrance to the hidey. She'll pull it in there and eat.

You do know she needs a friend, don't you? They're social animals, and really need at least one other guinea pig to live with.
