Unhappy Umm. I'm Not a Bad Mommy, Right?

Last night I had one of my girls, Emma, out for some laptime. She is very timid, and tries to run up my front if I ever have to walk around with her. She'll do the same thing when I try to put her in the cage. Anyways, she was trying to climb up my front, and as I was sitting down to put her down while at the same time making sure she didn't fling herself off of my shoulder, she jumped off of me. She normally does this, but it is only from a height of 2-4 inches. She landed, and I saw her paw was tucked very close to her body like she had hurt it. At that point, I flew out of the room and banged on my parent's locked door til my dad came out. When I came back in, she was fine. She was walking around on all four paws, and putting weight on the possibly injured paw without limping. I very gently touched and stroked her entire leg and paw, and she seemed to have no reaction. I even VERY GENTLY picked her up after a while, and she didn't cry out, bite, or show any signs that it hurt. This morning, she's eating, drinking, showing absolutely no signs of stress or lethargy or injury. My parents are very reluctant to take my babies to the vet unless it's life or death. Is my baby OK, or do I need to rush her to the vet because she could have internal bleeding?

No, if she had internal bleeding, it would probably be too late to take her to the vet. And she wouldn't be eating, drinking, and "showing absolutely no signs of stress or lethargy or injury." Just keep a close eye on her for a couple of days, but she's likely all right.

Thank goodness! I figured that internal bleeding would be the worst, worst case scenario! Hooray! The paw tucked in is what really scared me! (Other than the part about falling 2-2.5 feet!) :( This forum is a life saver!!!!!!
