The absolute worst part about moving

PACKING!!!

Seriously, is there anything more annoying than packing for a move?

I only have one large box and two small boxes of my stuff packed, I still need to do a lot more, but it's so annoying and I can't help but want to hang out with my rabbit or guinea pig and watch Game of Thrones instead.

I can't be the only person who feels this way, right?

Yes, packing is a PAIN!! I hate just about everything about moving, which is ironic because we're in the Army. Between packing and cleaning and unpacking it's all miserable!

I hate packing and usually hate unpacking. We move frequently, and used to move internationally. I found a box last year that we'd carried around, unopened, from moves across three countries over the past few years. Had no idea what was in it!

Ended up being anticlimatic -- plasticware and such -- but I usually take the advantage of my irritation and throw out or donate a lot of stuff. The hard part is kids' stuff. I have a totally irrational fear about throwing out anything my kids have made or worn (I associate it with losing them, long story). I think moving actually keeps me from being a hoarder and helps me try to follow the mandate to simplify, simplify.

Ha, my husband and I moved back in February and still haven't unpacked everything! Moving, in general, is so stressful and I'm kind of thinking I NEVER want to move again.

I'm terrible at packaging. I'm not very good at fitting the most in a box/bag. I was never any good at Tetris, either.

I also always injure myself in some way when I move around. Last time it was a giant iMac smashing my finger. Ugh.

For some weird reason unpacking doesn't bother me, but packing does. I think it has to do with the fact that it's more like cleaning because you have to go through your stuff and see what you want to keep and blah. Unpacking is so much easier because you just take it out of a box and put it away. That's how my brain works any way.

Again I'm weird when I say this, but I think the most fun thing about moving, is the heavy lifting. Most people would hate this, but I like it because I think it's the easiest. It's also pretty fun to work the muscles in my arms.

Oh, and since I posted this last night, I still haven't packed any more stuff.

I like unpacking, at least for a little while. Especially in a new place, I get the sense that I'm building my new home (which I pretty much am :P ). Then, once I get tired of it, things will stay in their boxes for weeks.

Packing is awful though. There's no way to make it feel good.

I dont mind packing, its the unpacking that I get lazy with. I still have things in boxes and we moved like 8 years ago
