Cresteds are shorted haired guinea pigs with a little rosset (swirle) on top of her head.

She is adorable!!

I was reading last night about the crested piggies, but it says that the crest has to be all white? Is that wrong information?

That I think is the showing rules, though a Crested pig can have any color crest on it's head to be that breed.

Millie is a marked crested, marked being the colour, crested being the breed.

I think what you were reading was showing English crested guinea pigs. There are several types of crested guinea pigs - English (one colour all over, crest is same colour as body), American (body all one colour, crest is contrasting colour to body) then Marked crested (like Millie) with other colours including Himalayan, Tri-colour etc
These are not cavy show guidelines - they are all colours of normal piggies btw.

I have two American cresteds.

Mickey is all black & white, except for an orange blaze on part of his crest.




Guinness (OPP) is obviously all white so naturally his crest is white as well.

*he does actually have a little bit of grey mixed in with his fur but not enough to call him white & grey.
