I'm so happy
My mom said that if I keep my room clean long enough, she'll try to convince my dad to get another piggy.
I only have one at the moment, Nikki. I will have had her for a year July 16. She really, really doesn't think she'll get along with another guinea pig because Nikki's so attached to me and won't like having to share attention, but I want to at least TRY. If my mom's right, I know I don't have to feel bad that she's alone. Which I have since I got her.
Even better, I convinced her to let us look at shelters instead of Petco/smart, which is a very last option for me. I checked two sites online including Petfinder, no pigs near us at all. The only one or two I found in our state require a very long drive.
And, once my room gets moved downstairs, she's going to build a plexiglass cage for Nikki. It's going to be a 2x4, so if we get another pig they have enough room. Right now she's in a 2x2, but Nikki's a tiny pig so it appears bigger than what it really is. Not an excuse, I know but it's better than having a large pig in the cage.
Lastly, we're going to get a 30/38 gallon tank for my turtle, Little Guy soon. Yes! He's in a 10 gallon right now, and letting him out to run isn't the best option. His shell is almost 3" long which means he needs a 30 gallon at least. Poor guy, I feel so bad for him. At least we did save his life.
End of rambling post, I was trying to get everything out there as quick as possible. Meh.

I do hope it works out for you to adopt a new pig for Nikki and a bigger gallon for your turtle.
Keep us posted when these things happen and of course will have to see a picture of your new one.

Contact the northern Ohio rescues and ask if they have foster homes in your area. You'd be surprised at the number of rescues that will try and move the guinea pigs closer to you. Contact those in MI, too.

It's nice to hear that someone is happy. Your mom is rewarding you for growing up, and being mature enough to handle responsibility. Good luck with your search for a pig. Don't forget to check the listings here.

That is awesome! I hope you find a piggy at a rescue, like Pinky said, rescues will go quite far to get a piggy a good home.

That's great thanks for sharing your excitement with us. KEEP THAT ROOM CLEAN, wouldn't hurt to help out more around the house, get good grades ect.

I'm a straight A student, apart from an occasional B. So grade have never been an issue. The only issue I have atm is my room, which is almost completely cleaned as of yesterday.
I'll do some research on rescues around us, but the only place there seems to be pigs around here is in petstores. I've checked two or three shelters so far that supposedly include small animals but no such luck with pigs. I'm hoping for a pig with a crown on her head; I think those are extremely adorable.
