Wish me luck!
Been a stay at home mom for about 10 years now. Husband said that it's about time I get off my slack behind and get a job. Well I have an Animal Care Aide certificate from a community college. There's a vet that's hiring, I'm gonna put my application in, and hope I get it. *crosses everything*
It's a large animal vet mind you...but according to the job description no real interaction with the animals will be needed. I'm thinking that it is right up my alley. I love animals mind you, but hey it's a way to get my foot in the door so be it. He also has horses and cows of his own so MAYBE it's a good way to get cheap/free hay for my piggies too! And well vet care for them, since this guy's wife is the small animal vet in the area. >.> But yeah..I hope I get that job, being at home all day without anyone to really talk to is starting to get to me (Both my kids are in school full time now)

Yay! Good luck! I was a vet tech through college and while I was pregnant I worked reception at a large animal vet. If you love animals it should be a fun experience for you!

Well, my mom used to breed Chinese Shar-Pei (The key word is Used to..she doesn't anymore. She is a full supporter of rescue now) and I used to be the kennel hand so to speak. Well we didn't have kennels...we had..house dogs, all the dogs were part of our family. So anyway I digress, I love animals, yes...I really hope I get that job. I'm making darned sure I get there at opening so the vet gets my resume/cover letter himself...
