One baby carrot a day is acceptable. They're high in sugar. I've never heard of Wild Harvest. Is that a guinea pig pelleted diet? The four recommended pellets are KM Hayloft, Oxbow, Sweet Meadow and Mazuri 5664

KM Hayloft, Oxbow and Sweet Meadow can be ordered online. You might be able to find Oxbow at pet stores in your area. I'm not sure about the Mazuri. I'd switch as soon as your are able to find one of the others and toss the one you're using.

The Wild Harvest is sadly very badly made. It's one of the cheapest foods My friend got that for her pig before she knew what was best for them. It tore their tummies up and they had diarrhea Make sure the food you pick also doesn't have other colored bits of things. They will pick out the colored stuff and not eat the pieces that are what they really need to be eating.
t have tried KM, Oxbow, and Mazuri like pinky mentioned and they are all great foods. My pigs prefer Oxbow out of all of them. They go nuts for it. I buy it at Petsmart.

I like to buy my oxbow and KM food from amazon or a local rescue near my house.

No. If he is getting the proper veggies, pellets, and hay, additional Vit C shouldn't be neccessary. Here's a link:http://www.guinealynx.info/diet.html

    Re: carrots

Kaytee is considered a bad brand. Only the four brands that Pinky mentioned above are recommended.

KMS hayloft is only available online. They have the best pellets and hay.
KMS Hayloft, Grass Hays & Fortified Feeds From the Valleys of the Pacific Northwest

You can find Oxbow in most stores and online stores link Amazon, Dr. Foster & Smith., etc.
Oxbow Animal Health | Essentials - Adult Guinea Pig Food
Oxbow Animal Health | Essentials - Young Guinea Pig Food

Sweet Meadow is also available online.
Sweet Meadow Farm | Rabbit and Guinea Pig food | Horse Riding Programs

Here's how to select good pellets.
    http://www.guinealynx.info/pellets.html

The 2nd ingredient listed in Kaytee pellets are corn. Which is a no no for guinea pigs.

    Edit to add:
I just checked the ingredients in mazuri. I'm now not so sure why this brand is recommended. It also has ground corn in it.

That is great!!! My pigs love that stuff like it's gold. Like the other's said...no vitamin c is needed. Oxbow has vitamin c in it, and I feed the a slice of green pepper every day to make sure they are getting enough.

    Re: carrots

Thank you very much. I feel so bad for "poisoning" my babies Just placed an order for this Amazon.com: Oxbow Cavy Cuisine Adult Guinea Pig (Timothy Based), 5-Pound Bag: Pet Supplies . As soon as it delivered, Kaytee goes to the garbage.
I'm so happy to be able to find so much information. I've had no idea, that so many people are crazy about piggies !!!

    Re: carrots

    DO NOT feed that.
It is horrible for pigs. If it has any seeds/cereal like pieces/dried fruit/veggies - it is junk.

Sorry if I am harsh, but is absolutely the opposite of what pigs should eat.
