I was reading the cozies instructions by spy9doc and didn't understand exactly how to make the cozy. I have a sewing machine but I'm not sure how I am supposed to sew the circle to the strip section with a sewing machine. Would it be easier to hand sew?

Clovers......I actually didn't provide instructions. I was simply telling folks how to accurately measure the sides of the cuddle cup to fit the diameter. The instructions provided on the forum are incorrect and will result in a misfit.

Your best friend on the forum is the "Search" box. You won't believe how much valuable information you will find in previous posts, and some of them 3-4 years old. Go to the same thread where you saw my post and go back to the beginning for some good instructions on making a cuddle cup. Again, just be aware that the directions for the sides are incorrectly measured:

Yes, there are some pretty good instructions on YouTube for making cozy sacks and cuddle cups if you search for them. Just as an FYI, a cozy sack is like a little sleeping bag and is very easy to make. Start with a cozy sack and then progress to a cuddle cup. A tunnel is made using virtually the same technique as a cozy sack with a couple of minor variations.

@Trega That's so awesome! I didn't buy any batting yet but was so anxious to make one I did the simple version and I'm posting a picture right now.

@guinnymom23 I don't know about places in Canada but there are very good places in the web.

The easiest thing would be probably buying from a petstore. I see them all the time in the one near me and if yours doesn't sell them, you can go on ebay and search cuddle cups.

Also Cozy Cavy makes cage accesories like cuddle cups but in April they had to close because of a tornado. The site says the should be opening sometime after the new year.

I went on the site and have now purchased two cups and a cozy bag! should have them within 2 weeks, I hope...my girls are going to loooove them, I'm sure! I've been debating to get rid of the big pigloo though...not enough room for it all...

@Clovers I didn't have any of that sheet batting that she used in the video, but I was at my mom's house this morning and she had some of the fluffy stuff. I actually think that work even better! I still sewed it down around the edges so it wouldn't move around.

I have all this African fabric that I had gotten from overseas and it has been stored in my closet this whole time, I am glad I could use it for something.

@guinnymom23 Yay! Your piggies are going to be so happy. Pigloos make them so anti social. I try to keep the pigloo out of the cage until night time maybe you could switch back and forth?
