I'm not sure how well it would wick the moisture...you'll have to try it!

It punctures too easily and also tends to unravel. It will not wick away the moisture either. I don't think it would work well at all.

It would hold the pee and stay wet, and if it unravels the guinea pigs could chew on it. I don't think it would work that well.

You can use it under fleece. It would make good absorbent layer. Use multiple layers though. One layer is not going to be enough.

Re: Flannel farbic?
Nix on the flannel -- it ravels, and they'll eat the strings to the tune of much pain and many vet bills. Doesn't wick like fleece either, so it's not serving the same purpose.

or get themselves/legs/feet caught in the strings. I had this happen to my sun conure from a bird toy, Luckily I was there and cut it away before it did more damage then just scaring him. Not flannel material, but still a material that also unraveled easily.

I still think it's safe to use under fleece. If you sew it to fleece, it won't unravel.

I agree with lissie, as long as it's sewed it won't unravel and might make a nice absorbent layer, but it won't work as a top layer.
