Odd Coloring of Urine; L&A Cranberry Juice?
A couple days ago two of my females' cage has urine patches that were almost coral pink. I was concerned and my dad tried his hardest to find the least sugar in a product of cranberry juice. I think i found the winner; its called "L&A Cranberry Juice". Is anyone familiar with this brand? Have they used it before? I want to find the safest kind, and of course i wont feed it to them until i get the OK. My dad said its too expensive for getting a guinea pig checked up; let alone two. The color of their urine today has sort of faded but is almost a light brown coloring. I sort of went overboard with cranberries; my dad found dried ones, but they were sweetened, and we found timothy hay with some in it. Here are some nutrition facts.

You *have* to take these piggies to the vet. Pink/reddish colored urine can be a sign of either a UTI or a stone, and cranberry juice will not cure either of them, and without proper treatment they can die. Some vets will have payment plans to help with the costs of treatment.

Pink urine can sometimes be caused by the diet. Have you fed any red chard or beets?
It would be unusual for both girls to come down with UTI's, but it is possible. I'd monitor the urine for a day or so--if it doesn't clear up they will most likely need a vet visit. Check this to find out what's normal in urine color--

And Brindy is right in that cranberry juice or cranberries will not cure an urinary tract infection.

Ditto what the others have said. On another note, cranberries and cranberry juice are basically a pointless endeavor for guinea pigs with urinary issues - as you'd have to give an obscene amount to have even the most remote of therapeutic effects - far more than you'd be able to give, or that they'd be able and willing to consume, most likely. If you can't attribute the color to diet, and it continues, get them to a vet ASAP and ditch the cranberry products.

I was pretty ridiculous to ask this! The girlies are doing far better now, and I'm not sure what made one of their urine to change colors. Very odd! Thanks everyone for informing me on the juice. This thread can be deleted now.

Maybe because they ate something: too much, first time, dry, wet, and so on. Though, that is quite weird...
