    Width Problem

I hope I posted in the right area. I wasn't sure if I should post here or in "About Cages".

I'm planning to order a medium size cage from Sue on this site. I'm planning to put the cage on the wet-bar in my home. But, the problem is the width of the cage is 2 1/2 inches too wide! It'll hang off the side a little. The length is perfect, though.

Is this something to be concerned about? Will the cage possibly tip onto the floor? How about if I put heavier cage stuff on the side resting on the surface?

    Re: Width Problem

I have my 2x5 grid cage on a 2x4 grid stand, overhanging by 1/2 grid on each end and I have pulled it forward to hang over the front edge by about an inch. So far it has posed no problems. The cage is heavier than you think, so I wouldn't be concerned about a little overhang.

You'd need to add grids under Coroplast tray and zip tie to the grids on the side.
I think Sue's cage only has the grids on the side with Coroplast tray but not the grids under the tray.

If you were really worried I bet you could post some pics of the space once you tested it out and we could figure out a creative way to anchor it just to be safe.

You can pick up an inexpensive piece of plywood the same size as the coroplast bottom to place under it as extra support.

How many piggies do you have? Are they boys or girls? Medium size cage is only 2x3.5 grids. If you have boys, they will need a bigger cage. I'd recommend getting 2x5.

I have only one piggy for now, but have found one availble for adoption I like. My piggy is female and so is the pig I'm interested in. Also, considering Amos is in a pets store cage right now with 2.5 square feet, it will be quite an improvement!

Update: I'll make the cage instead of buying from Sue. I will have extra grids and coroplast so I'll try to make a second level.
