Adopting a 13lbs Maltese Mix...

Do I need to add a lid to my cage? It's up on 2 grid high stand. So the whole cage + grid walls are about 42" tall. Will the dog be able to reach in?

Doesn't sound like you need to. But I did, I have a Weenie dog and A Basset hound. Luey the weenie is young & curious. April the hound is lazy and could care less. All depends on the dog. Stews cage is on a stand that's 1 grid tall, So I put a lid on it, But my girls are on a table, But I put a lid on there's cause they climb.

But if you think he would jump in or anything, Then I would. Just to make my mind calm down cause I would always think "Is luey gonna jump in stews cage?"
