She's rumblestrutting at ME!

Hi guys,

My young female piggies have been with me for a month or so, so we're still bonding and they are still jittery, but popcorn around and seem happy.

Lately one has started the dominance dance again, so she's rumblestrutting all over the place and the other is whining. Lately when I put my hand in to pat her, she rumbles as I pat. Now, I say 'rumble' because it's deeper than a purr and longer than a durr, so I figure it's a rumble. She also lifts her bum up unusually, as she does when she rumblestruts

This has only happened lately, and not all the time, only when - I think - she's in a dominant mood.

Is she trying to dominate me? Or does she think I'm another (gigantic) cavy? Anyone know what's going on?

Sometimes if you pet them near their rump. along their back end, they make that loud purring sound and lift their back ends up. I think they're probably ticklish and they're letting you know.

My boys rumble strut at me too, especially if I put my hand near their food while they're eatting. I think it's adorable. I think that's it, though, that that's a dominate pig's way of saying "Hey you! I'm not afraid of you!"

My one boy rumble struts with little teeth chatters everytime I sit by the cage, I tell him he's being a rude little boy and he runs away. Then he gives a couple popcorns and watches me. When I look away he rumble struts back to me again. I think it's just his way of reminding me he's a tough guy. The funniest part for me is he's not the dominant pig. His brother always wins. Maybe he feels he has to win with someone so I'm it. I find it quite cute.

You have no idea how much you've just cracked me up! Yeah we sometimes forget where we are in the packing order.... It is their responsibility to tell us with a few bum wiggles and some rumble strutting sounds.

I couldn't agree more! My boar Fidget rumblestruts whenever he smells Samantha on me. When I am cleaning his cage, he is a hoot. He rumbles, purrs, shakes his butt, and hops on top of my hand and pees on it. Then he popcorns away, squealing. What a goof!

He has also tried to mount my hand a time or two amidst all of this. I know this for sure because I saw his...yeah. I can't help but to laugh at the silly boy.

Two of my three boars are an enemy. Pixie hates Levi with his life, I tried so many times to keep them together but the things are getting worse. That's why I'm planning to give Levi to my friend because I couldn't make an extra cage and couldn't add another friend for Levi. Whenever I smelled like Levi, Pixie starts rumble strut me, and from his eyes I know that he's angry because I give attention to Levi..
