Quarantine?

I know that the new piggy needs to be quarantined. I have him in a smaller cage in the office right now and Lil' Fella is in the family room in his C&C cage. I realize of course that they should not be together at all before the three weeks is up, but I have a question about floor time.
I usually let Lil' Fella have floor time in the hallway because it is a safe area once the doors are all shut. Can the new piggy have floor time in the same hallway at a different time, or could a virus, bacteria, or germs live on the carpet? Would vacuuming help or maybe Lysol spray on the carpet between piggies?

No, they say that you should not do it in the same place. That it kind of defeats the purpose. How about a bathroom? Lay down some towels so he/she doesnt slip all over the place.

Funny, great minds think alike. I was just calling to my husband that the new pigglet can have floor time in our bath till quarantine is over. I can certainly arrange for that. Thank you for the advice.
