    Question Ramp worries

    Hi everyone.

My piggies like to hide on the 2 ramps I have in there, (bended grids with towel to cover) What they do is get inbetween the folded towels, use it like a tunnel I guess but several times they have got stuck because the end was folded in or they simply messed it up so the end was closed.

I've tried folding it in different ways but they allways manage to still get in there and I'm worried If I go out for the day or such, they could get stuck and be there till I return.
    What should I do....

Ps) I made them a hammock and for a week they wouldn't go in it, then I filled it up with hay and now they fight to get in it ,,,,totally cute!

So it's towels on a bent grid ramp? You could try to sew the entrance over, like fold the end of the towel ofer the ramp and sew it so that it stays against the ramp.

Thanks Doc, I hadn't sewen the ends because I thought alot of muck could get stuck in there maybe but I do have them clamped to the rail but they are obsessed with loosening it.. I had pegs on there but they would get them off, now clamps are better but still they manage to loosen it enough to get in.
Maybe I will cut some carpet to fit but I heard that can get smelly, the towels are nice and soft and they love it and its easy to launder.

Because it needs to be thick to support their weight, if I only put 1 layer they could hurt themselves.

I put coroplast on an area of grids where my pigs could fall through. I used zip ties. Then fasten a towel over it with more zipties (youd have to put a couple holes through the towel)

I see but then if its tied to the base, how do you remove it for cleaning?
I'd be replacing the ties everyday.

    Re: Ramp worries

I covered mine with a good layer of fleece and sewed it on. I have never had to wash it since my piggies don't eat or sleep on the ramp. So there is no real need for it to be put threw the wash. I just add some soap to it and rince it out in the sink. Only do this once every couple of weeks. They have yet to pee on it though I do find beans on it every once and a while
