Question Safe wood to use for cage frame?

I'm building a new cage for my 2 rabbits. I need something a little more sturdy, and since the space is limited, I need don't need the limitations from grids (if you want to make it bigger, you have to make it 14 inches bigger). My rabbits don't get along, so their cage is separated. It will be two feet off the ground. 6 (maybe 7 or 8 if I can come up with the room) feet long (split in half for each bunny) and they each have two full levels. It is going to come out from the wall either 2 or 3 feet (depending on the length). And each level is going to be 1.5 feet tall. So it will be 5 feet tall in all.
The cage dimensions aren't the main point of this post, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. By the way, these rabbits are each under 2 pounds. **As for the levels not counting for the floor space, I think that is different for rabbits. My rabbits (at 2 am!!) love to jump up and down from the higher levels and run back in forth. They use both levels equally.

Okay, now, the reason of this post was so I could find out what the safe woods are to build the cage with. I will have coroplast, so there shouldn't be any urine getting to the wood. But is there an animal-safe treatment for woods just incase? I doubt that any treatment would be safe to ingest, but I'm just making sure.
Are there any fumes from certain woods to avoid?
The way that the wire will be situated will make it almost impossible the get to to chew on. It's hard to explain though. I drew it all out, but the scanner is broken .

    ANY suggestions are welcome!

Here's some good resources for rabbit house building. I personally like: Index 's cage (though it's C&C)

Www.rabbit.org has lots of info about rabbit housing too they don't specify wood type just that it must be untreated.

I don't understand the first website. Is it just about that rabbit's cage?

Mine is made of (I don't know if that's correct in English) cinnamon tree wood. They do not chew it, it doesn't sho any kind of problem with humidity. I does not smell. It's really hard. So hard that they can't even scratch it.

Thanks, I went on etherbun, and found out that I need to use hardwoods, like yours. I went to look at some stores and I think I'm going to use red oak, unless I can find something cheeper that is still safe. But thanks for your help.

You can use pine, as long as it's been kiln-dried it's safe. And cheap.

The one I have for piggies is hardwood, and it's ever harder. It was quite cheap. Well, I do live in Brazil, so wood is quite cheap. It's just heavy, so, you'll probably never move it.
