I went to Target this weekend and bought two boxes of the mixed 5x5 and 8x8 grids and built this great cage for my Guinea Pigs out of the 8x8 pieces. Then... I found the post about the 8x8 grids. I don't mind tearing down the cage and starting over but, I can't find a source of the 9x9 grids where I live. Is there a reasonably priced solution.

If you have any grids left over, any kind, you could double the grids!
You can make really tall coroplast.
Not quite sure what you mean by double the grids? I have a few of the 8x8 grids left and a lot of the larger (I think 4x4 I'm not near them now) Im using the round plastic connectors to join the grids and there isn't room to put additional grids in??Originally Posted by GuineaPigGalore
I think that if your pigs are full grown, non-pregnant adults you can use those grids. I'm pretty sure that's what it says on this site in a section with grids on it.

vicky2 - The 8x8 target grids are dangerous even to an adult piggy as the holes are large enough for them to get their heads stuck.

It says what I said when you scroll down to the warning. With small adults, I agree with there head getting stuck but if they are on the bigger side, I think it's safe.
Salana's advice on this forum suggests they are dangerous to any pig. I'd be inclined to err on the side of caution.

The silver (I think they are called platnum on the box but I'm not sure) grids at target are safe. Take those grids back and buy the silver ones. Look at the picture on the box and count to make sure the squares are 9x9. If you they don't have them at your target ask an employe to order them for you. Or you could order them off of another website like bed bath and beyond.
Even the biggest pig can get his/her head stuck in the 8x8 grids. Better safe than sorry.

If you can return them and get 9x9 that would be best.
If not, you can overlap the grids, effectively making the holes half the size.
If you don't want to do that, you could buy new safe grids (online if you can't find them in stores) and use the old ones to make a stand for the cage.
