Recommendations for tape for cage making?
Does anyone have any recommendations for what brand of tape to use for taping up Correx to make a cage? All the "heavy duty" tape I've seen and used seems fairly weak and unsticky and not very suitable for holding together guinea pig cages. Does anyone know of a brand that's reliably sticky and strong and resistant to wear?

I used super glue instead of tape. Works very well.

Packing tape actually works very well (the clear kind). Some people swear by duct tape, others say duct tape doesn't hold.
Personally I punched small holes in the sides where I overlapped the corners and used zip ties to hold my base together. If I needed to butt together 2 pieces to enlarge the cage I used packing tape.
So far the packing tape has held well and obviously the zip ties work.

Thanks for the tips, I've actually never seen clear packing tape though. Only thing I've seen is either supposedly heavy duty duct tape like stuff which doesn't seem very sticky, sellotape like flimsy stuff, masking tape, or brown parcel tape, which, whilst sticky, tends to fall apart. Is packing tape different from parcel tape?

I always have a heavy supply of brown parcel tape; I used some on the correx and it worked fine. Just be sure to use more than one stretch of tape - with our moving boxes one stretch of tape is useless, there needs to be 3 or 4 overlapping layers to get it to hold.
Duct tape worked best for me though (clear with little squares on).

I'd recommend waterproof tape. It is somewhat ticker than normal tape and because it is waterproof, the glue is thicker and holding much better. The tape is also more difficult to remove once it sticks. I used the brand "Pitt" , but I don't know if it's available in the US.

Duct tape is what I would recommend.

I have the problem of my pigs eat the tape, i used brown packing tape then covered it with masking tape which is paper based incase the pigs decided to eat it. Now theyre eating the masking tape! It must taste nice! They're stripping it off the cage! I'm trying to stop them but its difficult as they won't take the hint!

Pigs are good at taking hints, like men.
