one post with emoticons that I'm not supposed to use in my posts but they were put on the forum to use in posts and I'm singled out as the bad guy.

Apparently you only take what you want from a statement. I told you that emoticons are not punctuation. You were using smilies in place of periods, etc. I never told you to not use them at all although we do have rules about overuse of smilies.

My two girls do have a wheel and they use it often. I had that wheel in with the boys when they were babies and they wouldn't use it. I think the main reason is because they're too lazy.... They don't try to chew out. I have a lot of chew toys in there with them though. They LOVE those peter's pine cones. I wish I could enlarge the cage another grid long, but I live in an apt. and have to keep the cage in my room because my roomate doesn't like rats.

lilchris, would you tell me how you did the door for the cage and where it's located? I have my first rat, a little blue girl named Angel, and I have the mesh grids like you have, but have yet to figure out how to do a door on a two story cage where I can reach the bottom easily. Help?

I have also read that rats do not need wheels.

We used to have two Does, didn't have them for long though because they would draw blood every single time we held them. They never had a wheel, we were told that rats don't have wheels.

Some people say that anything with tails should not have a wheel.. no idea why though - perhaps because they could get it caught easily?

I have been researching rats a lot lately because I was keen to try again with rats (but have now decided not to).
