I would like to have a list of great pro rescue, active rabbit forums. They can be pretty hard to find.

At the same time a list of great rabbit care info sites would be good to have.

If you know of a good one please post a link in this thread. I would like to compile them and make a good list.

Please do not post forums that are breeding oriented.

If you belong to a great prorescue rabbit group please share this site with them. I would very much like to see more rabbit knowledgable people around to help out when there is need.

Thanks for the submissions. Unfortunately the first one is breeding oriented and has no rescue information.

The other doesn't seem to be active. Is it new?

No it's not new- and I just checked the link and it works.

How is (the new) Rabbit village not acceptable? That's the first place I'd even heard of rescue!! Can there not be a single person on there that chooses to breed to meet your approval? Women there travel distances just to rescue rabbits in need! They are constantly posting asking if anyone is in an area where they just happened to hear about a poor bunny that is going to get dumped at a humane society if a home isn't found.

And even those that breed- do it in a safe and humane way. IF there were NO breeders- we wouldn't have the pets we all love so much. I'm glad there are responsible and loving breeders available!

I think there was one called Edit;breeder/shower forum I havent visited it in sometime not sure if you want to use it or not, wanted to toss it out there.

I looked it over and didn't see any forums on it soley for rescue. I did see a "rabbit's for sale" forum though.

I saw no stickies or forums about it being prorescue, anti breeding or pro resposible breeding. I did see a lot of threads about breeding rabbits.

I need more then one or two people on a forum to meet "my approval" It has to be the strong majority. That site doesn't meet the criteria

I will admit I didn't look fully at the site. I perused it though. What I saw were entire forums dedicated to breeding and selling. The feeding info looked good but it was all taken from http://rabbit.org I already have that info available.

Wrong. I can look on petfinder and find hundereds of rabbits in my area in need of homes. My local rabbit rescue is full as are all of their foster homes. There is no reason to be breeding more rabbits at this time. They aren't going to die out. We can never get everyone to stop breeding, but we can refuse to support and accept those that do. There are also accidental pregnancies. They supply plenty of rabbits for those that need them.

People who breed rabbits tend to sell to anyone who has the money to pay. They sell them unaltered so anyone can continue breeding. That is not my idea of responsible.

Show me a site where the breeders have homes already lined up before they breed, rescue as well as breed and NEVER breed their rescues, surgically alter all of their rabbits before they sell them, do house and cage checks on the homes they sell to and house and feed thier rabbit properly and then I will consider it as a viable forum.

Don't take it personally. I have a very firm stance (as does T and the other mods here) on my views of breeding rabbits and GPs at this time. There are simply too many and I will not change my mind until the intake and outgo ratio at rescues evens out.

I'm sure the people on that forum are very nice but I cannot in good conscience advocate it on this forum which is so heavily pro rescue orientated

This might be the same as April's. I like this one. Its really the only rabbit one I go on. I went on another but they were talking about tattooing rabbits and I did not like that at all.

Thanks Kimberly, but it also was much too breeder shower.

A rule of thumb is if it isn't prorescue and obvious about it, or the bulk of the info is about breeding and showing, then it's probably not going to make the cut.

I'm not saying that those forums do not have good info but these are forums I wish for have sticked in the rabbit forum here (if T approves). Therefore they MUST be prorescue.

I'd like to add one if I may, don't know if any of you have ever visited this site. It is a CRUELTY FREE website and they have alot of stuff to look at and read. Plus that have a reference section that is most impressive and I feel, second to none. I hope this website will make a fine addition here.
