Do rabbits need ramps for a loft?

Does anyone have rabbits in a C&C cage with a loft? If so, do you have a ramp or can they just hop up there? My daughter is planning to get a bunny soon (she is hoping to find a holland lop or mini lop, so it won't be that big) but she is wondering if she will need a ramp for it to get to the loft or if they can jump. Anyone?

All the C & C cages for bunnies that I have seen do NOT have ramps. I've also seen my 6 lb lop jump over 36 inch high baby gates with no problem. So I'd have to say that they don't need ramps, however, depending on the adult weight of the bunny, you might want to run reinforcement rods under the loft to limit flexing of the grids.

BTW, I just had my neutered boy, Calvin, bonded with 2 PEW girls (pink-eyed-white) from a rescue, and they're wonderful. I hope you're looking at shelters, rescues or Petfinder before going to a breeder or pet store. The rescue woman I got the girls, Holly and Ivy, from is the same woman I got my 3 Guinea Girls from (Amber, Sweet Pea, and Daphne). She was an invaluable resource when Calvin got sick after his neutering surgery. Also check out Bunspace.com after you adopt, it's a lot of fun.

Hello! My 2 bunnies can jump from level to level with no problem. If you get a baby, you might have to use a small box or something to help the bun jump up. They seem to rather jump than use a ramp. Hope that helps

My sisters bunny (who I built a C&C for) loves his loft! He doesn't have a ramp and has no need for one. He loves hopping up on his "perch" to get a better view!
