Please don't buy live rabbits for Easter, make it chocolate bunnies and stuffed bunnies instead. So many rabbits end up in shelters after Easter because they are high maintance pets. Please make the right decision. Thank you.

This is something I wonder about each Easter. I've never had a live rabbit, I honestly prefer guinea pigs, but when I was younger I had a tradition of asking for a rabbit plushie each easter instead of or including some candy.

I am going to post this on my local Craigslist! I hate to see all of the ads that show up after Easter for free to good home Bunnies and chicks. It's sad and I don't understand why people don't consider the fact that Rabbits live up to 12-13 years and need lots of space! They are not "temporary" pets and they are certainly not low maintenance!
