Re: What type are these rabbits???

Cotton, a New Zealand or a Californian.
Blackie, a Havana or a silver fox.
It's abit hard to tell from the pictures.

Re: What type are these rabbits???

From my experience..

Cotton is definitely not a Californian and doesnt really look like a New Zealand either.
Blackies head is shaped WAY different than a Havana and she doesnt appear to be ticked like a Silver Fox.

I would say the are probably either Americans or Beveren.

Re: What type are these rabbits???

I'm sure glad guinea pig breeds are more distinctive than these rabbit breeds. These two rabbits look the same to me except for the color and how far they are holding their ears back. I confess all bunnies look similar to me--but equally cute!!

Most people cant tell rabbit breeds apart. I on the other hand have done extensive research into rabbit breeds and can tell them apart quite easily for the most part. I admit, there are many breeds that are similar, but some are very distinctive. Take these threefor instance:

This pretty girl is a Dutch, the most recognizable and well known of all rabbit breeds.

This is a Jersey Wooly. They are much more less known.

This gorgeous boy is a Netherland Dwarf. More known than a JW, but less known than a Dutch.

These are just a few examples of very distinguishable rabbit breeds. Breeds like the American, Beveren, and Havana though can easily be confused.

American is a good guess for Blackie, I think. Cotton definitely looks like a Rex though. Her fur looks shorter and softer, characteristic of the Rex breed.

Re: What type are these rabbits???

Oh yes, Cotton is definately a rex. I have a solid black doe and the body and head are exactly the same. Here are some other Rex rabbits.
