Exclamation aquired a rabbit who was going to be left in the parking lot...louisville

Hi there! Long story short, I acquired a rabbit yesterday after a woman tried leaving it in a busy parking lot to die. He/she (not sure yet) is all white with red eyes and only slightly larger than my guinea pigs. He had no food, water, or bedding when I got him but I have been feeding him adequatly and whatnot. My question is... are there any diseases that can be spread through the air or just from my hands from rabbits to guinea pigs? They are currently in the same room but with different cages and the rabbit at least appears to be healthy. I want to make sure my pigs cannot get any diseases from the rabbit. Also, I want to find it a home as I cannot keep it and wanted to see if anyone here had any recommendations for the Louisville, KY area? Ive been calling around and leaving messages but noone will call me back.

Rabbits can transmit bacteria to guinea pigs that I believe can be deadly, although I don't know if it can be transmitted just by them living in the same room together. I suggest you put an ad on Craigslist to see if anyone is interested in adopting your bunny. Make sure you charge a small rehoming fee to ward off people who would want to use the poor baby as snake food.
