Yes Wanting to adopt a rabbit

I've have been looking on line lately and i've decided that i would like to adopt a rabbit. My question is what should i expect when trying to adopt? Do i go and meet the rabbit and if they like me do i get to take her home? Will they come to my house and check things out first before i can take her home? Also if someone could help me find a female holland lop to adopt that would be great. I live in Havelock,NC 28532
Hope someone can help, Thanks so much

It really depends on the shelter. Some shelters, you can just walk in, signs some papers, and walk out with a rabbit. Other shelters are more stringent. Depending on the shelter, they could do home checks, vet checks, etc. Good luck!

I adopted my rabbit from the Cape Fear Rabbit Society in NC. I am in SC so she did not do a home check, however I did have to send her a picture of my cage. The lady that runs it is really nice and will let you come to her home and check out the rabbits and she will let you spend time with them and see how you interact. There is an adoption agreement and I think there is a short adoption application. Here is the link to her page Cape Fear House Rabbit Society, Adoptable Rabbits.

The first one looks like a breeder.

And it looks like they are outdoors. In a wire bottom hutch.

I recommend you buy the House Rabbit Handbook House Rabbit Society Rabbit Care Guide
