I have been recently looking into adopting a rabbit and cruising petfinder everyday to see them at the local shelter. My brain was telling me "NO DON'T DO IT you have you 3 guinea pigs and 50 gallon fish tank in your room...where are you going to put a bun!?" So after the routine of petfinder, then checking out craigslist to flag breeders...I stumbled onto a dwarf bunny that needed to be rehomed because her family was moving over seas and couldn't take her. As soon as I saw her photos I was hooked. They lived in the valley almost 2 hours away, but I had to see her. I went with my boyfriend the next day and fell in love and of course adopted her. The owner told me her children did things with her in 4h and is very loved; she had a lot of little boys! I sent them pictures of her in her new home since I knew her boys were concerned that the rabbit was leaving them, and they are very pleased; I was glad to of helped since if she wasn't adopted she would have ended up in the shelter as a last resort. They said I was the answer to their prayers so that was very touching and kind to say. I have been having a lot of fun setting up her new home and giving her lots of toys and fresh veggies everyday. It's been great doing research about rabbits since I havn't had one since I was a little girl. She's in a 6x3 and its 2 grids tall so she has plenty of room, and gets 2-3 hours of free time in my room which is bunny proofed. I think my guinea pigs are a little jealous! I was afraid at first she would go nuts and pee everywhere since she would consider my room her home, but so far she has been very good. Right now she is sleeping on my lap. This is our first laptime together since I've left her alone to get adjusted to her new home. (I picked her up on Tuesday) I think she must like me! I have some photos of her on her supervised roaming time. Thanks for listening!!          |

She is SO cute!!! I wanted a bunny so bad but a few experienced bunny owners talked me out of it, but I will be just as happy with my piggies. What's her name? |
