Hello, I feed my rabbits Oxbox pellets. My baby rabbits are in a 3x3 cage with a 2x1 loft until they are litter trained. My other 2 rabbits are in a 3 level 4x3. |

Do they also need unlimited hay like the piggies? |

Yes - unlimited hay is a must, House Rabbit Society Rabbit Care Guide is a good place to start. |

I love dwarf bunnies! I agree with rabbitscavyluv, House Rabbit Society will tell you everything you need to know. Pictures, please, when you have your new one. |

Hey guys turns out I made a mistake and my new one is going to be a lionhead bunny sorry I am not a bunny expert . I havent received her yet because when I found out it was a lionhead I thought it was better to ask you what I should feed her how much , cage needs and if she will need another female eventually. Thank you! |

Caring for a rabbit is pretty much the same whatvever breed it is. They all need a spacious cage (at least 12 sq feet and 2 feet tall), companionship of another rabbit, and the same diet (hay, veggies and pellets). Like guinea pigs, rabbits are a social species and need the company of their own kind. (Doesn't have to be the same breed though). Rather than getting another female, the best pairing for rabbits is usually one of each sex - but both the male and female must be neutered! (Female rabbits should be spayed anyway to prevent uterine cancer, which kills up to 80% of entire does by 5 years old.) For some good rabbit info, including diet, social housing etc. check out this site (its a UK site but the info is correct) Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund |
