Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Alright, I've considered posting this in the "Rabbit" section of the forum, but it seemed to refer more toward the rabbit cages than other things, so I hope it's appropriate to post this here. Moving on - I have 3 dutch rabbits, 2 males and 1 female. They each have their own 3 by 6 grid cage (I'm not sure if this is important to the subject but I may as well add it in just incase) but they don't have a schedule. I would like to start and maintain a schedule for them, because with 3 rabbits, run time and lap time can get to be a big hastle. So if anyone could lend a hand, I would really appriciate it! Weekdays I'm not home from school until 3:10, but other wise I have no planned activities. In the schedule I would like to include feeding times, exersize times, lap times, bonding times (between themselves and the other rabbits), and etc. The bonding doesn't have to be every day. I don't want to come off as if I'm putting this all on anyone willing to help, because of course I'm coming up with a schedule of my own, but I'de like to maybe see others schedules for their pigs and rabbits. Thank you very much for taking the time to read! Please reply! |

I can offer no help since I don't know much about rabbits. But I am going to move it to the rabbits forum since it does belong there. |

Rabbits don't really need/benefit from lap time like guinea pigs do. I don't pick my rabbits up more than once or twice a day, and I never have lap time with them. My rabbits don't have a solid schedule, since my work/class schedule is a little odd. Tuesdays and Thursdays I work 1pm-11pm; Mondays and Wednesdays I'm in class/commuting from 7:30am-4:30pm [approx. a 75-minute commute] and Friday I am in class/at work form 730am-11pm. On weekends I am usually home all or most of the time. The basic structure of their schedule is pellets and out-of cage time in the morning before I leave and out-of-cage time whenever I am home, salad at night. That said, I wish I could give my bunnies a more solid schedule since they really do benefir from it, but currently that is as good as it's going to get. I try to give them plenty of chewies and toys so they don't get bored. |

I have a schedule for my soon-to-be-rabbit (getting him/her in may!!) because I think that rabbits would enjoy routine. 7:00--grooming and a quick health check 7:30--breakfast!!! Give half of days pellets, refill water, restock hay 12:00--lunch!! I give veggies and nutritious greens, check hay and water. 4:00(to 8pm)--floor time!! (I clean up the cage& litter box about now) 6:00--Dinner!! other half of pellets, restock hay, refill water Hope this helps!! |

Are your rabbits neutered? Are you trying to pair them up with the bonding? Rabbits don't really like lap time as they don't like being carried or restrained. I"d schedule play time instead, with you playing and interacting with them. |
