Are they always this quiet?

My friend dropped the rabbit off yesterday.

He doesn't seem to chew like I thought he would. I gave him toilet paper tube and he has one of those strange carrot shaped wooden things hanging. I thought rabbits chewed? I bet I could find a crab apple tree as well. Are those OK? Maybe I should try wires hmm...

Anyway he is also very quiet. He moves around and all. Does not mind being held. He won't drink out of the water bottle I found. (one I had on hand) He drinks out of a bowl. Tried that once with the guinea pigs. They dump over everything. Still trying to figure out how they poop in their bowl. GP's sure make their wishes known. So do my kids. This is nice, but is it normal?

We are hunkering down for another storm and not going out.

Re: Are they always this quiet?

I have two rabbits. Jamie and Patches. Jamie my male is the quietier of the two. He is not a big chewer. I have a cardboard box in his cage and it will stay in place. He likes to drag his treats in there and eat them. His litter box is never moved and he uses it faithfully.
Patches, my female, chews everything put in her cage. Not only is her cardboard house chewed to pieces she moves it everywhere. The same with her litter box. She pushes it around, empties it out and won't go in it. Then she likes to sleep in it. She uses a corner of her cage for all of her buisness. Her toys are all over too.
It just shows they too have their own personalities. Give your new bun some time to show you his personality. He may be a calm one like my Jamie or a wild women like Patches. Plus, new surroundings are new. What type of home did he come from? He will need veggies everyday too.
My brain is leaving me at the moment. There is a good rabbit site I think called House Rabbit Society Rabbit Care Guide I will look it up and make sure I have it right. It has alot of info for rabbits.
That is the right site so look up and enjoy.

I have more questions if your willing to answer :)

I know he is a lop and that he is a he. He is very gently on my lap. I have brought the cage I have for now into the kitchen. I take the top off and he won't leave. If the kids or I (even the 3 year old) sit near it he will crawl into our laps. Depending on how much they wiggle that is. I sat him up in my lap and was able to check the sex and cut off a small bit of poop. I gave him to much veggies to fast so there was one small piece stuck in his fur. Other then that he will stay there uncovered for hours.

I was trying for a weight and just am getting clawed. He fits inside a oatmeal tube. Something our two guinea pigs Daisy and her daughter Oreo outgrew. Daisy does have a small waist after having the babies that does not seem to go away. So I am guessing he is a mini lop, but am curious on his weight to at least be able to check it occasionally.

He seems curious. Sits up on his back legs to see who is coming. I try to keep changing the toys around since he is so curious about them. Seems to occupy his mind as well.

Oh while in the kitchen my cat climbed in the box and started cleaning the rabbit.

I did join a list, but it is slow I am guessing because of the time of year.
