I have a new rabbit.

As I posted, I lost my female, Jackie to the heat last week. Her partner Jamie has missed her very much. I called the Humane Society and they had a female. She is (I think) a dwarf, 4 mths old, white with blue eyes. I named her Jenny. We shall see how she likes Jamie and Jamie likes her.

I have to get a camera. I want to get pictures of her and Jamie, plus the GP's.
Me nephew asked if I would take his rabbit. I said I would only if they get her spayed first. So I may have three rabbits. I have to read up on how three get along. Having two has been great but not sure if three would rock the boat. His rabbit is a lop. Jamie is a lop and Jenny is a dwarf so I have to see.

I am so bummed. My new rabbit, Jenny, was found dead in her cage this morning. She was fine last night when I fed her veggies. I went to work and came home to her this way. I do not have a clue. She had been doing so well. I am so bummed.

Well, I'm from AZ too, and let me tell you its just too darn hot!!! I don't think any animals can really stay outside here between the months of MAY- AUGUST. Maybe they just can't handle the heat, poor things. I think you need to consider keeping them inside for a few more weeks until it cools off a bit! I'm so sorry to hear that your bunny died though, thats not fun at all! Good luck with this wicked heat... Bleck!

Is that 4 animals you lost within a month? If so there is something seriously going on in your home. You need to get all of your animals into a great vet for exams and testing and do not bring any more animals in until the problem has been found and solved.

None of my animals are outside. The new rabbit was in quarintine. I had just had her about 3 weeks. I had not yet put her in with Jamie.
I did lose 3 animals to the heat when the A/C went out. I have corrected that problem. I have many old animals that are way up in there teens. Some of them have died of natural causes.
I do not have a clue as to why the rabbit died. She was fine last night when I checked on her.
I am not going to replace her. I am not going to get anymore animals at this time. I hurts to much to lose them
