Re: nail cutting

It works best with 2 people. One person should hold the rabbit securely with it's back to their chest/belly while the second person clips the nails. Hold the rabbit with one hand on the torso and one hand under the butt.

Many people hypnotize or trance their rabbit to clip thier nails. I do not suggest this method! Trancing a rabbit lowers the heart rate dramatically and when the rabbit is brought out of the trance the sudden increase in the heart rate can kill.

Re: nail cutting

I usually take my rabbit outside on a bright sunny day, so I can see the blood vessel in his nail easier (he has dark gray nails). I either hold him on my lap or wrap him in a towel like a "bunny burrito." If he is not cooperating, then I will have someone help hold him. If your rabbit stresses very easily, you may want to take breaks after you finish each paw.
