Question Help!!!

I was at a local feed store and this woman came in with a baby rabbit that looked abused. I went over to look at it and she kind of shoved it on me and ran out. I need help!!!!!!!! I bought food and gave it some vegetables and I was able to find some info online. The vet doesn't open till Wednesday.

Re: Help!!!

Is the baby eating on its own? I would hold off on vegetables for now since it can cause GI upset in rabbits not accostomed to eating veggies. You can provide alfalfa hay as well as rabbit pellets. Does it have any obvious injuries?

Here is a great website to start off: House Rabbit Society Rabbit Care Guide

Make sure the vet you plan to take the rabbit to is an "exotic vet" and is experienced with treating rabbits. Rabbits are very different from cats and dogs, and need to be seen by veterinarians experienced with more exotic pets.

Feel free to ask any questions.
