Our mission is raising public awareness through education of the proper care and respect that guinea pigs deserve. While our main focus is on guinea pigs our desire to educate encompasses all animals.
Most domesticated animals suffer in the same ways guinea pigs do. They are overbred, sold as a commodity and left to languish by neglectful/abusive owners. Shelters and rescues of all sorts are overcrowded. Animals are euthanised every day because there are not enough responsible homes for them to go to and no more room in the rescues for them.
Therefore,
Cavy Cages does not support any animal breeding or purchasing of any kind. Almost any pet animal you could be thinking of getting is available through a rescue be it a dog, cat, horse, rat, bird, hamster, ferret, chinchilla, etc.
Many members of our forum work in rescues. If you are looking to adopt an animal of any sort it is likely that help is available through our members.
