Unhappy X2 I really need some moral support

As if it wasn't stressful enough having one pregnant Guinea Pig now my little spottie is expecting too. Socket is due a week from now and spottie must be at least 4 weeks along. I am losing my mind. I'm so worried that something bad will happen. I haven't even had them very long and now I can't pick either of them up and be extra careful around their cage because they are still a bit weary of me. Poor girls... At least they have healthy appetites.

You'll do fine. I just posted new baby stuff on this thread -- you can pop over there and read: http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...-pregnant.html.

How old are Socket and Spottie? If Spottie is only 4 weeks along, you can still pick her up -- it's when you get to the 8 week mark or so that it becomes a problem.

Is your cage large enough for all of them? If not, you should make some larger arrangements ASAP. You don't want them being so stressed by the crowding that the babies ears get chewed.

Read those Guinea Lynx articles in the post I referred you to above, and then post back here if you have more questions.

Re: X2 I really need some moral support

I have a second cage that I am going to use as a guinea maternity ward for both of my girls and then when the males are weened I'm going to keep them in there until I can find them homes. The main cage is 10sq feet and the other one is only 4sq feet. but I'm hoping that I can find homes for them quickly. I was also going to keep a girl from each litter (if there are any) and get an extension for their cage.
