Exclamation 3 pups... had no idea she was even pregnant.

Well I woke up to a suprise! Clover my female had pups! My hubby and I are thinking that when we went away in may my mother in law might have put every one in one area to clean cages, she doesn't know anything about piggies so I called her today to talk to her about that way it NEVER happens again.

We have two girls and one boy. The boy is the colorful one. both the girls are cream colored with white and have soft straight hair unlike the boy who has curly hair.

Everyone is doing good... And I have homes for everyone. Pickle is fixed now so I don't have to worry about this ever happening again. That and he isn't housed with the girls anyway. he is with Kink-ko. Lesson learned by my mother in law... looks like next time we go away I'll find someone else to watch the pigs.

They are absolutely adorable! So glad they're healthy and you found homes for them! The little boy looks smaller than his sisters and he has floppy ears! So cute!

Re: 3 pups... had no idea she was even pregnant.

I'm glad mom and babies are all doing well.

Is Kink-ko neutered?

And just out of curiosity, how is it you already have homes for them if this is such a tremendous surprise?

Also, whether or not she "knows anything" about pigs or not, I'd surely think she understands that generally, a boy and a girl, especially in the order of rodents and small animals, make a baby. Was she unaware that you had both males and females?

Re: 3 pups... had no idea she was even pregnant.

The way I read it, Kink-ko is the baby, so obviously he is not neutered yet. She stated that Pickle (who I assume is the father) has been neutered but does not live with the girls.

Re: 3 pups... had no idea she was even pregnant.

Ugh, if Kink-ko is the baby and he was just born today he should still be with his mother.

And if the male, Pickle, has been neutered, I don't understand why he couldn't be with the females at this point.

Under a picture of Pickle in her gallery album from 6/25/09 it says "This is Pickle, his birthday is Aug. 22 2008, he is being neutered July 2009 and will be housed with Clover and Lila after hes healed."

So it appears that he was recently neutered and isnt able to be with the girls yet, but got to them/her before the neuter. She also fosters pigs which could explain who Kink-ko is

Actually I just happened to be looking through her gallery as I often do when someone mentions their pigs. I like to put faces to names and noticed his caption which happened to be relevant to the discussion

Paula, Yes kinko is nuetered

Yes it was a suprise, my sister is staying with us and I made a few phone calls when I found the babies. You do know that in canada we have those strange things called phones right? because they are usually hidden in my igloo next to my beaver.

Yes my mother in law knows about the birds and the bees, SHE DID NOT know that I had boys and girls. And Luckily Clover was in heat and not Lila or I would have many babies.

Do you really think I am that dumb? why would some one take a healthy baby with a mom that takes great care of her child and stick it in with a boar? Frankly whats your problem? That was a useless post.

Pickle is also living with Kink-ko who was a foster and I adopted him to be with Pickle. THAT is why.

Kink-ko was a foster and in now a full time piggie. So that was about the only thing you missed in all that. Thank you!

I find it questionable that you were shocked to find them in the cage but had no problem finding homes for them all within a couple hours. Unless of course they're going to a pet store. I imagine they'd take them up in a heartbeat. Or, you know, if you had homes lined up for them prior to their birth.

How do you know Lila's not pregnant? I mean, if you really didn't know Clover was pregnant? I really am just curious. And also out of curiosity, why is it something your mother in law needs a lecture over (so I called her today to talk to her about that way it NEVER happens again) if you didn't think to mention to her that you had both males and females? If you really did just not mention it to her, I'm sorry, but I find that negligent.

Well. Since you failed to understand this, I'll explain. It was another poster who suggested that Kink-ko was the male baby, so it was actually that poster that I was replying to, not you. And frankly I was replying to that poster because s/he tried to explain something on your behalf which you yourself had failed to explain.

Indeed, you hadn't explained that. Thank you for doing so now and clarifying the identity of Kink-ko.

Perhaps I missed something and you are not the one who started the thread. Because the original poster is generally the originator of the thread. Whatever your username or actual name may be.

No, my dear, you are mistaken. I didn't start "acting like" anything. I asked questions to clarify the situation. Since your original post (that makes you the original poster, see?) left questions I asked, they tried to find an explanation. No harm in that, but seeing as how they are not you, they couldn't answer the questions like you had.

Are you kidding me? It's a litter of guinea pigs being added to an already massive overpopulation problem. A "nice look what happened"? Really? To me it seems more like a "Hey look what I could have avoided."

To me it seems it was a mistake not by the 60-year-old woman but by those who failed to mention to her that she was caring for an intact male and females.

No that was you. I asked some questions. You're the one making this ugly. Honestly.

No, there's really nothing I enjoy about animals dying in shelters while others are being bred. If it was a mistake, so be it. But the defensiveness in your reply really makes the "innocence" of the whole thing questionable.

They are quite cute and I am glad they are all healthy.

Frankly because I have been on this forum for a few months now and I am sick and tired of this BS (pardon me but there is no other word for it)

YES I am the original poster but I also have a name. This is a forum, not some company that refers to be by their account numbers. MOST banks treat people with more respect. I have a name and wish to be called by it just as YOU and any other forum member would.

Its no "defensive" its asking for a little respect.

Re: 3 pups... had no idea she was even pregnant.

I think they are beautiful, and that was a little defensive. Sometimes the reaction of the poster is the reason you get the reactions from the people replying to the post. All In all I think they you had beautiful babies and maybe in the future posts of tomorrow don't get so defensive and Irate (if I may put it that way)
