Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Our new guinea pig Hana had 2 surprise male pups 3 weeks ago. We have been told to seperate them because they can and will get the mother pregnant again. I want to know if it is ok to put them in a seperated C&C cage. I just am feeling bad because they are stressed and crying. Any help would be great. Jennifer in CA |

Hey, Yes you do need to separate them at 21 days. Have you baby proofed your cage because they can fit (or get stuck) trying to fit through the gaps in the cubes. As for them crying, if yo can put their cage next to the mothers with no cardboard or coroplast in between just overlapped grids s they can see her and sniff her and she can lick them and they can bond and interact but not get her pregnant nor squeeze through the gaps. Hope this helps. |
