 Impactions--Wheeks & Poos! Guinea Pig Cages now has an Forum Impaction System in place! Well, the technical name is infraction, but we decided we are calling it Impaction!  Our moderators and administrators can now easily click on a post and select from our list of impactions. A post impaction carries a "poo point" value and an expiration time. We can elect to just issue a warning (with no poo points) or the impaction with the poo points. We are calling our warnings: Wheeks! We can also issue custom or manual impactions with custom poo points and expirations. So, we will be issuing Wheeks and Poos! This should make it easier and less time consuming for our moderators to stay on top of things. Impactions can be appealed and potentially reversed. 5 poo points will cause a member to be moved to moderated (or 'Cavy Caged') status. Registered members can see if a post has generated an impaction. There will be a little yellow or red (warning or points) marker in the bottom right of the screen (until we come up with better graphics!) Impactions automatically generate a private message or email to the user with the specific impaction and poo points associated with it along with a link to the post that caused the impaction. | Impaction Awards Impactions: 1 poo, 14 days
10 ACCUMULATED poos will cause moderation status with PMs revoked. 20 ACCUMULATED poos is banned. For a while, this will be changing this quite often as we think of new things or readjust based on how it works it. Any impaction can be given as a wheek! Additional poos and impactions can be given at our discretion. This gives us lattitude, but makes it easier to manage and gives our members more visibility into how we are trying to keep things in line and the forum a pleasurable experience for all! | Re: Impactions--Wheeks & Poos! If a person has received an impaction poo or wheek, there is either a yellow (wheek) or red (poo) flag icon in the bottom right area of their post. You can click on that to read the impaction information. Also, you can view any and all impactions (active and expired) given to a member on their public profile. Impactions are listed at the top of the profile. Here are some real examples you can take a look at. http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/234191-post8.html http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/233349-post27.html http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/233610-post1.html http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/233393-post1.html Since all impactions also show on a member's public profile, you can click on the member's name in the post, and from that menu, select View Public Profile. There you can see if they have any additional impactions and their total poo points. We can also issue impactions to a member without a specific post, such as: http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/members/stipma.html This helps us as moderators keep better track of warnings about keeping within our forum's posted policies and guidelines as well as giving our members visibility into our actions and practices.
