I was thinking today that my guinea pigs outdoor run is pretty much the circle width of my trampoline, would it be an idea to move it under there, so that it's protected from the sun all the time not just part of the run? The trapoline never gets used unless we have company, so that way I could just not have him under there when they are over.

Re: Outdoor run idea you could do that as long as your sure it won't get used. Also make sure none of the plastic liner falls into the run area so that they don't get sick if they chew on it.

Re: Outdoor run idea It's been to hot out laterly to bring him out, I tried today, but he just layed thier so I brought him inside, the idea works though. The cover like I said never usually gets taken off because absolutly no one uses it, unless we have young kids over. But then usually when people are over, I put him in his cage so he feels safe when they try to maul him.

Re: Outdoor run idea I sometimes put my pen underneath our outside table. It's always nice and shady underneath. However, it's so hard to catch them.

Re: Outdoor run idea It sounds like a good idea to me! Where I live it doesn't often get too hot and my pigs love to sleep in the sun! My outdoor cage has wood sides though so there is always lots of shade. I just put some pictures up if you'd like to see http://www.cavycages.com/photos/show...php?photo=3149

Re: Outdoor run idea Sometimes I don't want to take my pig out side because we have a lot of cats in our 'hood, but I don't have a cage out there. Should I take him out? ![]()

Re: Outdoor run idea I would not take your pig out unless you have some sort of enclosure for him. Pigs will always find a way out somewhere and it would be chaos to try and catch him! If you have any leftover grids you should be able to make an enclosure that way and then supervise him while he is outside in it. Put lots of toys in the enclosure too, inlcuding a pigloo and some tunnels, just in case he feels the need to hide away.
