Help me need information

I have had my guniea pigs for about 2 months and they are still shy. I play with them alot. How do I potty train them? I really don't know how to take care of them.

My one Gizmo I think is a teddy. Nicko I don't know how do I find this out.

What sort of cage are the boys in? Do you need any help with which vegetables to feed?

Well they are in a pretty big cage. We just built one. But they can't open the dorr them selves. (Even though I would like it.)

My guys use it, mostly to pee, the poop everywhere, I think that there is no excaping that.

-How big is your cage?
-Are you feeding 1 cup of fresh veggies/fruits per pig per day?
-Do you give floor time everyday?
-Lap time?
-Unlimited timothy hay?
-A plain timothy based pellet diet with no mix (ie seeds or nuts) that has no ethoxyquin, corn, or animal fat it it?
-Have a same-sex pair?

I give them quarters of an apple or some fruit twice a day.
Our cage is pretty big.
I try to give them lots of floor time
Yes laptime
Lots of hay
Yes I have that food
Yes they are both males

They need veggies everyday, like romain lettuce, cilantro, parsley in moderation, carrots in moderation, cucmber, tomato, omeka, lots of bell pepper, kale in moderation, celery, and endive. They each need around a cup each day. Fruit three times a week, like strawberries, limited apple, limited orange, kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and others.

The cage needs to be at least 41" x 27", preferably 56" x 27" for two cavies.

What brand of food are you feeding?

Let me see we have reagular pellets and Wild harvest Guinea pig blend.
I feed them veggies.
I didn't know you coulsd feed them strawberries

What brand are the regular pellets? The best brand is Oxbow Cavy Cuisine (www.oxbowhay.com) and the best hay is KMs Timothy or Bluegrass (www.kmshayloft.com). Oxbow also has good timothy hay.

I don't know cause we mixed them cause the Wild Harvest didn't have many pellets

They should have plain pellets only, no nuts, seeds or other tidbits in it because the pigs can choke on it. You first said you were only feeding apple everyday then changed it to feeding veggies everyday. Cavies cannot produce Vitamin C on their own, thus the reason they need 1 cup fresh veggies per pig every day. Also too much acidic fruit will cause mouth sores. Wild harvest Guinea pig blend is not plain pellets, it's a mix.

You need to feed 1 cup of fresh vegetables daily. Here's a sample 'menu' that I feed my 2 boys:

3 romaine lettuce leaves
Half a ball pepper
Handfull of cilantro
A few sprigs of parsley
Handfull of salad mix which has endive, ricoccio (that's spelt wrong!) and lambs quarters
Fresh grass from my garden

Fruit should only be given as a treat - only 2 or 3 times a week.

You only need to give plain pellets, so it's good that you have them

Kaytee hay is usually dry and stale, you would be better of getting a bale from your local farm, because it's cheaper and fresher.
