Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 You see, my room is normally where I play with him but I'm nervous about letting him run for floor time because I don't want him chewing cords to my TV, computer etc cause mostly I don't want him getting hurt if he gets shocked from chewing on them, in addition to not wanting my computer or TV or PS2 ruined. I also don't want him getting under my bed and stuff, could I just block off those openings like under my bed and such with grids or what can I do to set up my room so I can give him floor time more? I used to just let him play around on my bed but I don't think he's getting enough exercise that way, plus I don't like wee-wees on my bed either. I am just concerned that it's not as adequate as run around floor time but at the same time I haven't really done it cause I'm worried about his safety. You could get grids a zip tie them into a foldable pen. If you make it nice and large you could form is around your furniture. If you don't have zip ties you could make a sturdy one with but it would take longer to put away. Quote:

Yeah that was a big problem, he always ended up weeing on my bed, then giving me the "I gotta go peepee!" tug on my shirt after the fact. |

i bought a small animal play pen from the pet store. it serves as a good "gate" for blocking off harmful areas. |

I use zip tied grids in my house for floor time to block off harmfull areas. It works great and gives them lots of access all over the place. Also I just started opening the side of the cage so they can come out of their cage freely and run across the room and then run back to their cage. It's great because I don't have to chase them under my recliner. Also they run back to their cage and use their litter box. |

Lately, they have been so comfy "out" roaming that I have to use food to lure them back. One of my piggies even manage to sneak out from the gate... yikes (what happens when that rascal gets too comfortable). I do not leave water out at all in the living room, only a handful of hay near their potty (they are kinda litter trained). They also barely wee outside, poop mostly in their litter except a few strays here & there (I find out right after they drink, they pee... so they pee at their home base usually). I love my piggies out & about... they seem to have so much adventures they go on scurrying here & there. P.S. They also know their name & what is "No". |

I had the same problem you do. My piggie likes to escape and hide behind the TV. I use grids held together in a long line with zip ties and set it up in whatever shape works for the space and then use one of the connectors to close it off. They seem to like that they can still see everything and I like that they can't go anywhere. It's super easy to fold up too. Plus whenever I don't feel like dealing with little puddles I just put a sheet under them and let the grids sit on top so they can't get under it. Hope this helps. |

For cords, at Drs.Fostersandsmith.com they have protective plastic to keep the cords to your PS2 and T.V safe. It also keeps them safe. They might have them at a pet store or a pet warehouse or you might try looking in a search engine for a pet warehouse or something. |
