New owner here, floor questions...

Anyone care to give me a "floor time basics guide"?

My pigs have only been here since Christmas Eve day. We hold them a lot and kind of make a little pen with our legs and they move around a bit. I don't want to freak them out and just put them in the middle of the floor and abandon them.

My biggest fear is that they'll run away someplae where I can't get to them easily.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

M

Have you read this site http://cavycages.com/floortime.htm? If not I think it might explain any questions you have about floortime.

Congrats on the new pigs and welcome to the forum!

Welcome! I think its best to make them a large pen, because then you won't have to worry about them getting stuck or lost etc. I made mine out of spare cubes and its roughly 6x4. Put loads of hiding spaces, such as cardboard boxes and tunnels. I like to put in some hay and to scatter veggies around. That usually gets them moving (for about a minute!)
